Thomas offers pumps for gases, vacuum pumps and compressors for variety of environmental market applications. Our Diaphragm, Linear Diaphragm and Rotary Vane pumps and compressors covers applications starting from gas detection and analysis, up to aquaculture, battery and pond aeration, sewage aeration, greywater treatment. Our oil-less units provide long-lasting high efficiency performance and comes in all sizes to power both stationary, portable and handheld devices.
Gas detectors detect the presence of gases in risk areas or confined spaces often as part of a safety system. These gases can be toxic or explosive. Hence, quick detection is imperative for alerting personnel working in hazardous areas and warning them to clear out if certain concentration levels are exceeded.
Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) continuously monitor volatile hydrocarbons and other gases present in emissions escaping to the atmosphere through industrial smokestacks. Government regulations and standards determine acceptable concentration levels that shouldn't be exceeded.
The micro bubbles with oxygen inserted into the water accelerate the growth of bacteria that break down the waste. Aeration systems provide ponds and lakes with aeration, circulation, and de‐stratification to increase dissolved oxygen levels throughout the entire water column. Thanks to that they help to reduce organic sludge, venting toxic swamp gases, reducing nuisance pond weeds, encouraging the growth of beneficial algae, and preventing winter fish kill.
Large amounts of air are passed through water and then ventilated to the atmosphere. The air causes the release of dissolved gases such as radon, carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrogen sulfide as well as volatile compounds like MTBE (Methyl tert-butyl ether) or industrial solvents as well as iron and manganese from the water.
Gas coolers and various condensate collecting vessels require a pump that continuously discharges gathered condensate. Liquid pumps - peristaltic pumps in particular - are the perfect fit for condensate removal, thanks to their advantages. They can operate in dirty environments and transport fluids that contain particulates. On top of that, peristaltic pumps are self-priming and dry-running.
